PROJECTS & ACTIVITIES

STREAM RESORATION/RIPARIAN PLANTINGS
The chapter has undertaken numerous stream habitat and riparian buffer enhancement projects through the years. The chapter is currently looking at a project site between  Tatamy and Mill Race Park.

STREAM SIGNAGE
To advocate for catch and release of our wild brown trout resource, the chapter created signage to help anglers identify wild brown trout, placing them streamside along the Bushkill Creek.

TROUT IN THE CLASSROOM
Our chapter sponsors four classrooms, Nazareth Middle School, Wind Gap Middle School and Bangor Middle School in this educational program where students raise brook trout from eggs provided by the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commssion and then release the fingerlings into a stream in the spring. The chapter provides the necessary equipment and assists in planning an educational and fun release day.

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY YOUTH FIELD DAY
Our chapter offers up our "Forks TU Fly Fishing Experience" with casting, tying, macro-invertebrates and more to about 200 youth aged 7 to 15 at this annual event hosted by the Northampton County Youth Field Day Foundation on the first Saturday in June.

WATER MONITORING
In conjunction with the Bushkill Stream Conservancy, several of our senior members conduct monthly water testing on the Bushkill Creek.

ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY
Our chapter adopted a two mile section of Bushkill Drive from Tatamy downstream to Lion's Park. Garbage is picked up three times a year along the roadside. This program is sponsored by PENNDOT.

KEEP PENNSYLVANIA BEAUTIFUL
This is our annual stream cleanup held around Earth Day. We concentrate on high use areas along Bushkill Creek, Martins Creek and our two mile section of Bushkill Drive.

BUGS & DOGS NIGHT
This is our annual May meeting "picnic" night where we tell fish stories, eat some hot dogs and other great food and sample the stream for macro-invertebrates. This is a great family event and is free!

ANNUAL PIG & CORN ROAST
Our Annual Pig & Corn Roast is our major fundraiser. Held at the Riverside Barr & Grille, Route 611 along the banks of the Delaware River between Easton and Martins Creek, Excellent food, camaraderie and raffles. No one goes home hungry! This is another great family event.

FLY TYING CLASSES
Our chapter offers fly tying classes for beginners and intermediate students each year in January.
