CHAPTER ATTACKS GARBAGE ALONG CREEK

About 35 volunteers, including about a dozen young people, showed up on a brilliant sunny Saturday morning on April 21st for our annual Earth Day stream and highway clean up, part of Keep PA Beautiful and the Great American Cleanup. This has become a joint effort between our chapter and the Forks United Church of Christ. We all met at the parking lot at Edgewood Avenue along the Bushkill Creek. After receiving instructions and a few words of encouragement from Chapter President Joe Baylog, our Chapter Cleanup Coordinator, Karl Loser, handed out safety vests and gloves and everyone proceeded to their cleanup assignment. We covered much of Bushkill Drive, parking areas, popular fishing spots and public parks.  Over 50 bags of trash were collected along with a number of larger items. Afterward, we met up at Tatamy Park for hot dogs and hamburgers provided by Forks U.C.C. We want to thank all of the volunteers and Forks U.C.C. for the fellowship and making this a memorable event.
