EARTH DAY 2017 CLEANUP A HUGE SUCCESS!

Our annual Earth Day stream and highway cleanup along the Bushkill Creek and Bushkill Drive was a huge success, primarily due to a large turnout of volunteers from our chapter and the Forks United Church of Christ. We had 34 volunteers, including twelve youth particpate, picking up trash along high use areas of the Bushkill Creek from Tatamy to 13th Street in Easton. We also picked up trash along our Adopt-A-Highway section of Bushkill Drive from Tatamy to Lion's Park. At last count, we had over 30 bags of trash, several tires and assorted discarded items. We would like to thank Gary Barraco from the Forks U.C.C. for coordinating the church's volunteers and for grilling hotdogs and hamburgers for everyone at the Tatamy park after the cleanup. We look forward to partnering with them on future endeavors. A special shout out to our chapter stream cleanup & Adopt-A-Highway coordinator, Karl Loser and PENNDOT for providing safety vests, gloves, bags and final disposal as part of the Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful program.
